KIPP New Jersey is creating a network of schools in Camden and Newark where our students are prepared to succeed in college and beyond. This year we grew to ensure that opportunity is reaching over 5,100 students across our two cities. Through their hard work, the dedication of supportive families and teachers, and a deeply held, shared belief in their future, they are proving the possible.

#1

KIPP New Jersey's high school sends more African American students to college than any other high school in the city of Newark.

From an Alumna:

“Before I was born, my parents made a vow to each other that I would be the first in my family to earn a bachelor’s degree. The focus KIPP put on college in middle school, and my parent’s drive, helped me understand that education was the key to success. I graduated from Mount Holyoke with a Bachelors degree in Mathematics and Mandarin last May and am currently putting my degree to work as a financial analyst with Wells Fargo in Atlanta."
Jadah Quick, Mount Holyoke, Class of 2017

To and Through College

Nationally, over 77% of students from families in the top income quartile go on to college, versus just 9% of students from families in the bottom income quartile. KIPP New Jersey is closing that gap through our rigorous K-12 academic program and our KIPP Through College support team.

alumni are on track to graduate from college at 4 times the rate of their low-income peers.

Being the Change

In 2002, KIPP TEAM Academy started with 80 kids. Now after graduating college, some of those original fifth graders are returning to their alma mater to impact the next generation of KIPPsters. Watch their story.
