Newark Comprehensive Public School Students Less Likely to Enroll in College, Study Finds
The Newark City of Learning Collaborative study tracked approximately 85 percent of all high school graduates between 2011 and 2016. KIPP New Jersey has the highest rate for immediate college enrollment and some of the highest for second term and second year persistence.
College degree attainment drastically improves when measured beyond a four-year period and KIPP New Jersey graduates earn a college degree at more than double the rate of those from a comprehensive public school.
