Through internships, opportunities to earn valuable college credits while still in high school, and summer programs at top-ranked universities, students are well-prepared and supported in their college journeys. KIPP Forward’s career-readiness programming offers students the opportunity to learn valuable skills like writing a resume, mock interviews, and more.
A 2023 study by Mathematica showed that KIPP middle and high school students are 31% more likely to complete college than their peers who did not attend KIPP. The study found the effect was great enough to nearly close college completion gap between Black and Hispanic students and their peers.
KIPP New Jersey Public Schools are free and serve all students regardless of special needs, past attendance, grades, or any other factor. There is no test to get in; admission is via Camden’s open enrollment system.
Our schools offer rich extracurricular programs. From athletics teams and dance classes, to photography or robotics club, our students are encouraged to discover their passions, connect to their communities and become lifelong learners.
Sometimes the best learning comes from the social skills gained by interacting with the people around you. Longer school days mean more opportunities for culture and activities such as sports, reading, technology, after school clubs and more.
We are part of KIPP, which has been around since 1994 and is the largest group of charter schools in the country. What that means is we get to share best practices to learn from each other and our long history. Each school we open makes us better equipped to meet the needs of all children.
Our schools partner with community organizations to offer comprehensive wraparound services for students and families including mental and social emotional support services, after school programming, grocery distribution, family engagement events and more.
Applications are required for all interested students not currently enrolled in a KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy. For the best chance of being accepted, please select one our five schools (KIPP Lanning Square Primary, KIPP Lanning Square Middle, KIPP Hatch Middle, KIPP High School, or KIPP Sumner Elementary) as your first choice. Families can log into their account on OneCamden to see the status of their application at any time.

Each year, our current families must confirm their plan to attend KIPP the following school year and update their contact information. The re-enrollment window opens in early May.
Over the summer our schools host events to welcome students to our KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy family. Your child’s school will contact you directly with more information about event dates. It’s an opportunity for your child to meet their school leader and teacher, learn more about the school day, for parents/caregivers to complete any final forms, and have fun!
