KIPP Purpose Academy

KIPP Purpose Academy opened for the 2021-22 school year, starting with students in grade 4-5 and expanding to educate students in grades 4-8. At KIPP Purpose Academy, we are a family. We are unapologetic in our pursuit of equity and anti-racism. Every KIPPster who walks through our doors will be given space to express their talents through an education that prioritizes student curiosity and leadership.

Leadership

We believe every student is a leader and we intentionally develop our student's leadership skills to be agents of change in their lives and the world. We engage students through challenge and curiosity, leaving space in every lesson for student discussion, connections and questions. We amplify student voices by asking for their viewpoints, inviting them to the decision-making table and welcoming dissent and debate.

Character

KIPP Purpose Academy knows how important it is we educate students completely. Thus, we offer both a college prep academic curriculum as well as a social-emotional learning curriculum. KIPP Purpose Academy students will receive 45 minutes a day of research based social-emotional learning to ensure we address all our students' needs.

To and Through College

With 74% of our 8th graders matriculating to college, we have created support structures to make sure they get the rest of the way through. Our dedicated KIPP Through College team will support our students with everything from navigating student loans to career counseling, even after they’ve left our school hallways.

Results That Matter

Though we focus on character, our students also receive an education that prepares them for college and beyond. In 2019, Mathematica released a study showing that the impact of attending a KIPP middle school could erase the racial achievement gap in four-year college enrollment rates nationwide -- attending KIPP following a middle school lottery produced an increase of 12.9 percentage points in enrollment rates in four-year college programs.
