Update on J.G. Whittier School Renovations in Camden
The historic J.G. Whittier School building was originally constructed in 1911 and its rich history of educating Camden’s kids will continue when KIPP Whittier Middle occupies the building in August 2017. Renovations are currently underway and will preserve the history and integrity of the original school building. Planned upgrades include, but are not limited to, a new state of the art gymnasium, new play field, all new electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems, new roof, and all new fire and life safety system and security cameras. The school will also offer a resource center for families and community members. Priority enrollment is given to students living in the Bergen Square area.
