The TEAM Academy Charter School hereby advertises for competitive bid pricing in accordance with N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-21(a) (b).

Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope and delivered to the Managing Director of School Operations of TEAM Academy Charter School on or before the date and time indicated below. The envelope to bear the following information:

Location of Bid Opening:

There will be a pre-bid walkthrough on Friday, March 8, 2024, starting at 8 AM at 300 N 13th St, Newark, NJ 07107. All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid walkthrough.

The bid opening process will begin at 2:00 PM on March 27, 2024. No bids shall be received after the time designated in the advertisement, (N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-21(b)). All proposals must be hand delivered. Do not mail or e-mail any proposals. The public can attend the bid opening at 60 Park Place, Suite 802 or by visiting http://www.kippnj.org/purchasing at the prevailing time.

A link will be present on the website to live stream the bid opening where the public can participate.

“Bidders are required to comply with the requirements of N.J.S.A. 10:5-31 et seq. and N.J.A.C. 17:27 et seq.”

Statement of Ownership Requirement: Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 52:25-24.2, Bidders shall submit a statement setting forth the names and addresses of all persons and entities that own ten percent or more of its stock or interest of any type at all levels of ownership.

A Non-Collusion Affidavit and a Contractor Questionnaire/Certification also must be submitted with the bid. The bid package will also include other documents that must be completed and returned with the bid. Failure to comply with Instructions to Bidders and to complete and submit all required forms, may be cause for disqualification and rejection of the bid.

The Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-2(s), (t), (x), (y), N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-4(a), N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-22, and to waive minor informalities or non-material exceptions, that may be in the best interest of the Board.

Contract Documents will be provided electronically in PDF format via FTP link, at no cost. Contractors that obtain Contract Documents from another source must notify the Issuing Office in order to be placed on the official Plan Holders List, receive Addenda and other Bid correspondence. Bids received from Contractors other than those on the official Plan Holders list may not be accepted. NO PHONE CALLS PLEASE!

There will be a pre-bid meeting on Wednesday, February 28 2024 at 2:00 p.m. The Meeting will commence outside at the main entrance of the KIPP N. 13th Street Campus located at 300 N 13th Street, Newark, NJ 07107. All bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Bid Meeting.

Pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:18A-26, in order to be eligible to submit a bid for the Project, the Bidder shall be classified by the New Jersey Department of Treasury, Division of Property Management and Construction (“DPMC”) as of the date and time of the bid opening in the following disciplines:

C099 Elevators (The Bidder must be classified in this trade) OR
C008 General Construction (The Bidder must be classified in this trade) OR
C009 General Construction Alterations and Additions (The Bidder must be classified in this trade)

Additionally, as of the date of the bid opening, if the bidder is not classified by the DPMC in the following disciplines, the bidder shall be required to retain subcontractors that are so classified by the DPMC, which subcontractors shall be listed in the bid and all documentation provided as required by the bid specifications and applicable law:

C047 Electrical
C033 HVACR
